Medication Allergies

No two people respond to a given medication in the same way.  While some individuals may be able to take a medication safely, others may have a mild or severe allergic reaction to the same product. All medications have the potential to cause side effects, but only about 5-10% of these side effects are true signs of an allergic reaction. Any medication can trigger an allergic reaction. A person may experience the following symptoms during an allergic reaction to a medication:
